The members of the Theatre
Owners’ Association held a general discussion
on the further course of action on Vijay’s
films at the Hotel Checkers, Little Mount,
Saidapet. Speaking to the media persons, Paneerselvam,
Secretary, Tamilnadu Theatre Owners Association
and Tiruchi Shridhar, Officer Bearer, Tamilnadu
Theatre Owners Association said that Vijay’s
films have been failing miserably since his
Aadhi days and the actor has made no efforts
to compensate the losses incurred by the theatre
owners and distributors. The latest addition
in the long list of flops happens to be Sura.
When the actor was approached for compensation,
there was no reply, Tiruchi Shridhar averred.
The next course of action against Vijay will
be taken up by the general body meeting of
the association. There are reports that Vijay
may be made to make good the losses by acting
in a film or face a ban. In addition to this,
the theatre owners may decide on buying a
Vijay film henceforth only after the projection
Speaking at the event, Tiruchi Shridhar said
that Mani Ratnam, Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan
and T Rajendar are the few people who will
pay compensation should there be a loss.
