Ganesh Venkataraman, the
dashing young ATS officer of Unnai Pol Oruvan
has been signed to play the second lead in
‘Kandahar’ directed by Major Ravi.
Ganesh will join big names like Amitabh
Bachchan and Mohanlal who feature in the
film. Ganesh plays the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s
son who then goes on to become a commando.
It had been earlier reported that Suriya
was supposed to do this role but backed
out due to date issues. Kandahar will be
a Tri-lingual in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.
When asked how it felt to work with Mohanlal
again Ganesh said “Before I even talk
about sharing screen space with Mr. Lal,
I must tell you that it came as a huge surprise
and honor to hear that Mr. Lal himself suggested
my name for this role. To be teaming up
again with a legend like Lal sir is an awesome
feeling. The whole world knows that he is
a phenomenon and it’s wonderful to
be repeating a winning combination.”
And about working with Amitabh Bachchan,
says Ganesh “I am a huge fan of Mr
Bachchan and so this is indeed a dream come
true. I am extremely thrilled to play his
son and share screen space with him. This
will be an amazing learning experience for
me. I can’t wait to start shooting.”
Meanwhile Ganesh is waiting for the release
of Selva’s Muriyadi under Kavithalaya
banner in July.
