News about Suriya’s guest appearance in
Avan Ivan comes as pleasant surprise for all.
The film is being directed by Bala, the man
who gave a break in Suriya’s career with
Nanda, which was followed by Pithamagan. Suriya’s
star status in Kollywood rose several notches
up with his critically acclaimed performance
in both these movies.
Avan Ivan has two heroes – Arya and Vishal
and is touted to be a comedy entertainer. This
is the first time Bala is directing a comedy
film. It may be recalled that all his earlier
ventures belonged to the dark-film genre.
Suriya’s sibling Karthi, in an interview,
had mentioned that Bala initially offered the
roles played by Aarya and Vishal to Suriya and
him but they could not take up the project for
want of call sheet. |
