Acclaimed film director Mani Ratnam will be
honored with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the
Filmmaker Award at the Venice Film Festival.
This was disclosed by director Marco Muller
at the Cannes Film Festival, in which Raavan
was premiered.
Announcing the decision, Muller said, “Mani
Ratnam is one of the greatest innovators in
contemporary Indian cinema. He helped introduce
the auteur concept to contemporary Bollywood.
We are very proud to honor the work of the great
Indian director Mani Ratnam.”
Good news is that Raavan and Raavanan will be
screened at the Venice Film Fest.
