Ever
since the IIFA announced its venue as Colombo,
trouble seems to be brewing for the film event
that is held to promote Bollywood films. The
event's ambassador Amitabh received brickbats
from Tamils living world over for having visited
the island country to promote the event. Tamil
director Seeman also held demonstrations in
front of Amitabh's house to attract attention
towards the plight of the internally displaced
Tamils in the war torn Sri Lanka. Following
this, Amitabh announced his decision to refrain
from attending the event. He also mentioned
that Abhishek and Aishwarya also will not attend
the event.
It is now learnt that Amitabh will also step
down from his Ambassador's position from the
IIFA body. Salman will be his replacement, Bollywood
sources say.
