Arun
Vijay’s Maanja Velu is in deep trouble
with producer Dr. Kalidas filing a petition
in the High Court of Madras to stay its release.
The film is to hit the screens on May 21st and
the High Court has issued a stay order till
May 19th.
According to the petitioner, Arun Vijay had
acted in Thunichal which was produced by him.
But even after paying the full salary and the
dubbing fee, the actor refused to dub for Thunichal
citing various reasons. Following this, the
film was released in just a few centers in Tamil
Nadu as there were no takers.
The petitioner stated that since Arun Vijay
did not lend his voice the movie flopped, due
to which he incurred huge losses.
In his petition, Dr. Kalidas has appealed for
Rs. 1.5 crore as damages from Arun Vijay failing
which his Maanja Velu should not be released. |
