Vijay happy to see crowded booths
Vijay made it to the Kamaraj Avenue,
Corporation School in Adyar at around
9 am to cast his vote. He queued up
just like everyone to exercise his
franchise. On speaking to reporters
he urged his fans to vote and said
that it is the responsibility of every
citizen to vote in a democratic setup.
The actor said that he was happy to
see all the polling booths crowded
on his way from home.
Ajith among early birds
Ajit cast his vote in a Corporation
School at Valmiki Nagar, Tiruvanmiyur.
He was among the early birds to cast
his vote. He came around 7.30 am,
stood in the queue and voted. Despite
many offering him a chance to skip
the queue, he politely refused and
insisted on standing in a file.
A family affair
Actor Sivakumar, wife and sons Suriya
and Karthi came to the Hindi Prachar
Sabha around 9.55 am to cast their
votes and immediately they were surrounded
by media people.
Jyothika was not present as she had
gone to Mumbai to cast her vote, the
family revealed.
‘Absent minded’
Prabhu
Actor Prabu along with his wife Punithavathi
came to cast their votes at the polling
booth in Thakkar Baba School in T
Nagar around 10.10 am. Prabhu forgot
to bring his voter ID card and had
to send his wife home fetch his card.
He was allowed to vote on producing
the ID card.
‘Suhasini’ Sneha
Sneha voted at a polling booth in
Kesari School, T Nagar around 11.15
am. Her vote was in the name of Suhasini
as per records. She was accompanied
by her mother Padmavathy.
Vivek
Vivek, along with his wife Kavitha,
voted at the Jaya Gopal Garodia Girls
Higher Secondary School, Saligramam.
Forgetful Seetha
Seetha and her mother Chandra Mohan
visited the Kaveri Higher Secondary
School at around 12.45 pm, but were
unable to cast her vote as she forgot
her voter id card. The actress sent
her driver to fetch the card and later
voted in the same booth.
‘Rekha’ Josephine Sumathi
Actress Rekha voted at the Hindu Religious
and Charitable Endowment office in
the name of Josephine Sumathi around
1.30 pm yesterday.
Bharath
Actor Bharath cast his vote at Milton
Kindergarten School, Choolaimedu at
around 1.45 pm.
Prasanna
Prasanna came to Avichi Higher Secondary
School at around 7 am but was unable
to vote as the electronic voting machine
was under repair. Hence, he had to
come back again at 2.30 pm to exercise
his franchise.
Ameer sends notice
Director Ameer who is a resident of
K K Nagar, New Bangaru colony, Madurai
was unable to vote as his name was
not in the voters’ list. Expressing
his anguish, the director stated that
around 100 families live in his apartment
block and all of them were able to
vote including his wife, and only
his name was missing from the list,
he fumed. The director has sent a
notice to the Election Commission
in this regard.
Kushboo misses a vote
Kushboo was down with ‘dengue’
fever and was undergoing treatment
at the Apollo Hospital, Chennai. She
was discharged on 12th May but was
asked to take rest and hence missed
her chance to vote.
