Kamarajar
Hall was bursting at its seams this
evening, thanks to the presence
of A R Rahman who was there to chief-guest
the audio release event of the movie
Eesa. Released he did and revealed
that his presence in the event was
to express his gratitude to Sridhar,
whose music troupe Rahman was part
of when he was only 13. It’s
Sridar’s son Haran who scores
for Eesa. The audio was released
by him and received by the cast
and crew of the movie.
Sridhar, during his address, requested
Rahman to answer a few questions
about whether he would continue
to work in Tamil movies and if he
had any plans to settle overseas.
Rahman denied the doubts as rumors
clarifying that he is part of projects
of Mani Ratnam, Shankar and Gautham.
“And about settling abroad,
I never had any such intentions,”
he reassured.
Vignesh, who addressed the gathering,
disclosed that there were apprehensions
about the title during the commencement
of the movie. “People said
that the movie’s name signifies
a powerful god and that the movie
would earn the wrath of the god,”
he stated. Rahman, who spoke after
this, clarified that Eesa also means
Jesus Christ and that the movie
has the blessings of Christ.
Two songs were screened at the event
including the remix of the Yaaradi
Nee Mogini song. The event was attended
by Ravi IPS, Joint Commissioner
of Police, actors Jiiva, Karan and
Producer council members.
Produced by J Jeyakrishnan, the
movie is directed by Bala Ganesan.
