After
the legendary Da Vinci Code, Ron
Howard is back with Angels and Demons,
cinematic adaptation of Dan Brown’s
novel of the same name. Tom Hanks
steps into the shoes of Professor
Robert Langdon, symbologist and
expert in religious iconography,
immortalized by him in Da Vinci
Code, in the thriller that explores
the hidden world of the ancient
secret brotherhood, Illuminati and
its resurgence. Israeli actress
Ayelet July Zurer plays Vittoria
Vetra whose antimatter experiment
has been reportedly stolen by the
Illuminati, according to the book.
Other than that the movie also stars
Ewan McGregor in a significant role
as the Camerlengo, an official of
the Papal court.
Extensively shot in Italy, the movie
is also partly shot in Hollywood.
The CERN laboratory where Vittoria
Vetra works was recreated in Geneva
by Production designer Allan Cameron
who reveals that recreating Renaissance
Rome and CERN in Geneva was a great
contrast, from a design point of
view.
While Tom Hanks vouches that like
Langdon, he loves the game of logic
that could only be solved with a
combination of lateral thinking
and knowledge of the facts, Ayelet
was quoted as saying that it took
a while for her at the beginning
of the movie to get the hang of
it because the team consists of
intelligent and very fast thinkers.
Ewan McGregor, on his part guarantees
that Angels & Demons is a fast
paced thriller that grips the audience
from start to finish.
Angels & Demons is hitting the
multiplexes of India very soon in
the month of May, when it is also
being released across the world.
