Muthirai
seems to have taught Anees, Late
Jeeva’s wife, a lesson or
two in movie making. She has slipped
into the shoes of a writer, screenplay
and creative director for the movie.
Muthirai’s audio launch, held
yesterday at the Shantham Theater,
saw a horde of celebrities, including
Vikram Bhatt, no less. The audio
was released by Vikram Bhatt with
Gautam Menon receiving the first
copy officially.
On his address, Gautam asserted
that Anees would have to be a very
patient woman for she had Daniel
Balaji in the movie. “The
number of questions Balaji can come
up with is just so amazing. In between
the shots, he constantly nags me
with questions about the previous
and consequent scenes,” mentioned
Gautam teasingly pointing at Balaji.
He also declared that Balaji is
a meticulous actor who pays attention
to even the minute details of every
frame. Before signing off, he also
expressed his desire to work with
Yuvan in the near future.
Anees mentioned that Muthirai was
a learning experience for her since
in Muthirai she handled few other
responsibilities digressing from
production. “It is only because
of my team that the movie became
a cakewalk for me. Jeeva’s
assistant Saleem has done the cinematography.
I taught myself editing with the
help of Antony,” Anees said.
The trailer of Muthirai, along with
two songs, was screened. The Om
Shanti Om song featured Lakshmi
Rai in her glamorous best while
‘The night is young’
song has Rakhi swinging to the tunes
of Yuvan demonstrating her pelvic
thrusts. Rakhi stands a chance to
send the Rasikas and the Mumait
Khans for cover in Tamil cinema
after the release of the Muthirai.
With breathtaking stunt and chase
scenes, Muthirai is ready to hit
the screens soon. The film is directed
by Srinath who was Jeeva’s
assistant for the hit movie 12B.
