Unnaipol
Oruvan’s press meet was held
today in Chennai. Actors Kamal Haasan
and Mohanlal along with the film’s
music director Shruthi Haasan participated
in it.
Speaking about Unnaipol Oruvan,
Kamal said that he decided on the
remake of the Hindi flick A Wednesday
because it was out of the ordinary.
Kamal revealed that Shruthi was
not very keen on wielding the music
baton for Unnaipol Oruvan when he
intended to take care of the direction.
However, when he passed the mantle
to ad film maker Chakkri, Shruthi
agreed to work in the film, Kamal
added. It is worth mentioning here
that Chakkri made a cameo appearance
in Dasavatharam.
Answering a question from the media
persons on whether he would make
a film on the Sri Lankan Tamils’
issue, Kamal said that he is interested
but is scared to take up the subject.
On associating with Mohanlal, Kamal
said that he is proud to work with
an actor of his stature.
Kamal Haasan said that his fans
want him to release Unnaipol Oruvan
in August to mark the 50th year
of his entry to Tamil filmdom. It
may be recalled that his debut film
Kalathur Kannamma was released in
August in the year 1960.
