Prashanth given clean chit

The dowry harassment case against Prashanth, filed by his wife Grihalakshmi, came to an end yesterday (28-May-2008), with the Saidapet Court giving the actor a clean chit. Speaking to the media soon after the judgment, a visibly pleased Prashanth said that the dowry harassment cases are used a tool against innocent husbands

like him. Earlier in the day, the magistrate court held that the allegations made by the complainant Grihalakshmi are baseless. Some of her allegations are that Prashanth's parents demanded a dowry of Rs. 8 crores, asked for a costly car, Prashanth asked for a LCD TV, which was purchased by Grihalakshmi's father from Malaysia, and so on. After having crossed the first hurdle, the actor now has another tedious of fighting the divorce case. It may be recalled that Grihalakshmi has already been accused of committing bigamy.
