Dashavatar in animation!

Yes, you heard it right. Dashavatar is being animated, but don’t get excited, this is not Kamal’s Dasavatharam, something completely different. We did not have any clue about this Dashavatar until recently when it started coming into the news as yet another mythology-based animation flick following in the line of Hanuman and Ghatothkach.

Predictably, this movie will be based on the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu and the many stories linked to them. It certainly is not easy to get all the 10 avatars fully covered in a span of about 3 hours or lesser and the makers have their task cut out.

The animated Dashavatar fell under the spotlight when the makers revealed their intention to include an item song in the movie. Now, this must be the first time that an animation film accommodates an item song. The makers, however, do not approve of the term item song here as they say that the song fits into the film. If you are familiar with Indian mythology you might know about Mohini and the churning of the oceans to obtain ‘amritham’. The song is based on this situation. The animated Dashavatar is being directed by Bhavik Thakore.
