What
started as a casual dig at each other seems
to have kicked up a storm between the Tamizh
Padam director Amudhan and Venkat Prabhu. Both,
albeit separately, appeared on a talk show,
Hands Up, hosted by film critic Sudhish Kamat.
The casual teasing made by Amudhan, intended
at Chennai 28, in an episode that featured him
and Shiva was duly answered by Venkat in a subsequent
show.
This has irked Amudhan who immediately went
public with the issue about how he is frustrated
with "people born into film families assuming
that they own cinema", referring to Venkat
Prabhu. Venkat did not take it lightly and replied
to Amudhan asking “why Amudhan should
bring his family in the issue,” proceeding
to advice that “Amudhan has just started
his career and with this attitude he would not
go anywhere.”
In the end, all this amounted to unlimited verbal
brouhaha on the internet where this episode
is being discussed upon, full throttle. However,
Sudhish, in whose show-sets this entire episode
has happened, has apparently “been advised
by his show's producer to maintain silence on
this issue”. His twitter update read:
“No more updates. They can sort this out
themselves.” |
