The
Gollapudi Srinivas National award instituted
by the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Foundation
has been giving awards to the best Indian film
every year. For the year 2009, the Hindi film
Road to Sangam, which has been directed by Amit
Rai, has been selected. There were 15 nominations
from various languages, of which Amit Rai bagged
the prestigious award.
The award was instituted in memory of debut
director Gollapudi Srinivas, who passed away
in an accident while shooting his first film
in 1992. So far 12 debut directors have been
honored with this award. |
