Gautham
Menon held a thanksgiving press-meet in Chennai
for making Vinnathaandi Varuvayaa a great success.
When the reporters quizzed on whether VTV was
based on a real-life incident, pat came the
reply from the director and it was a clear ‘no’.
Gautham said that the film is a fiction. When
asked about his earlier statement to the press
that it was based on a real-life incident, the
director said that he made a false statement.
An unrelenting pressperson wanted to know the
truth behind VTV’s inspiration, and Gautham
stuck to his statement that it was a fiction.
While the Tamil version is a tragedy, the Telugu
version has happy ending. To this, the gutsy
director replied that being a co-producer to
the Tamil version he decided to stick to the
tragedy, come what may. The distributor of the
film, Udhayanidhi Stalin also welcomed the decision.
However, the Telugu version had a different
producer who was not willing to take the risk. |
