Actor Surya was the Chief Guest of Honor
at the event and Vishal made a guest appearance.
Surya addressed the gathering briefly and
hailed Dr. Cherian as a visionary. He also
stated that the surgeon’s noble service
to the society in cardiac care sans any
publicity was commendable. Surya mentioned
that Cherian is a good friend of his father
for the past 30 years.
Vishal, in his address, mentioned with
wry sarcasm that he heard, while driving
to the event, news about fans’ plan
to build temple for an actress. “If
there was somebody worth honored and worshipped
in a temple, it has got to be Dr. Cherian,”
the actor added sprightly.
