From historical themes to social themes

Director Gnana Rajashekaran has given films like Moga Mul, Bharathi, Periyar, Mugam and so on which generally stand out and do not fall under the formulaic trap. Moga Mul written by the legendary Tamil novelist Thi Jaanakiraman was the first attempt in tinsel town of this senior Indian Administrative Service Officer belonging to the Kerala cadre which lapped up critical acclaim. Subsequently his films like Bharathi and Periyar were also much talked about for their content and presentation.

Having created a name for himself as a film maker of historical subjects, Rajashekaran will now be shifting base to themes centering round love. While reacting to a query whether he would direct commercial films, Rajashekaran reiterated that his earlier films were indeed commercial but for his next project he has plans to direct a different love story. He further added that he would be finalizing the cast of his film soon.
