The Canadian Prime Minister
Stephen Harper invited actor Akshay Kumar
to the Presidential House, as the honorary
guest at the G-20 Summit on 27th June 2010.
Akshay was accompanied by his wife Twinkle
Khanna and also present at the dinner were
the Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh
and his wife.
In a related development, Akshay was signed
up as the Canada Tourism Commission ambassador
for India.
Michele McKenzie, president and CEO of
the CTC was quoted as saying, “We’re
thrilled that Akshay Kumar has agreed to
be the CTC's Ambassador for India. Having
a superstar like Akshay on board to boost
Canada's profile within his country will
help turn the spotlight on the extra-ordinary
experiences that visitors can enjoy here.”
