The Kamal Haasan starrer’s
inaugural press meet took place at the fourth
floor of the AVM Studios today. The event
was attended by his co-stars Madhavan, Trisha,
director KS Ravi Kumar and producer Udhayanidhi
Stalin.
Kamal disclosed the title of this film to
be Manmadhan Ambu. The title indicates that
the movie is romance based and it will also
have heavy doses of comedy. The actor is taking
up a full-fledged romantic venture after a
long time. The last time we saw him in such
roles was in the 1980s.
The actor rued that the concept of rehearsals
in the film industry is diminishing. He added
that for a stage drama, which is made on a
budget of Rs. 3 lakhs, there would be umpteen
numbers of rehearsals but for a movie made
on Rs. 30 crores, nobody cares about it. He
recalled that during the shooting of Devar
Magan, he saw Sivaji Ganesan murmuring to
himself only to realize that he was rehearsing
the dialogues. Such a practice is not prevalent
these days, he said.
KS Ravi Kumar said that it was Kamal’s
sheer magnanimity that has made the actor
work with him in five films. The story, screenplay
and dialogues are by Kamal Haasan. The major
part of the movie will be shot in luxury yacht
in Europe and in a few places in Kodaikanal.
The team is leaving for France in a couple
of days.
To add to the comedy quotient, Manmadhan Ambu
will have Kunjan and Manju Pillai from the
Malayalam film industry.
