Thambi Vettothi Sundaram
is a film based on a real life incident. The
film has Karan, Sravanan, Anjali and MK Arivunidhi,
grandson of the TN CM M Karunanidhi, playing
important roles. Speaking about casting Arivunidhi
in the police officer’s role in TVS,
the film’s director VC Vadivudayan said
that not wanting to act; he refused to even
listen to the story. However, Arivunidhi agreed
to see a few scenes that were filmed and was
happy with the outcome. This film’s
impact on him made Arivunidhi decide on donning
the greasepaint, the director says.
Arivunidhi, though new to acting, is not new
to the film industry. He is an accomplished
singer and has rendered a few songs for the
films Perumal and Thittakudi.
