Sunnath Jamath National Association
has taken offense to a tagline written
on the newspaper advertisements
of Lawrence’s Rajadhi Raja.
The association members said that
the ad hurt the religious sentiments
of Muslims as Lawrence and a picture
of Mecca Madina was placed side
by side with the verse “Nabigalna
Mecca Rajanna Pucca.”
According to a press release from
the association, using the name
of Mohammad Prophet, who is not
associated with filmdom or films
in any way, has hurt the religious
sentiments of many Muslims. The
association has demanded an apology
from the film’s producer Shakthi
Chidambaram. In the press note,
the association said that it would
start agitations in Tamil Nadu if
the producer did not apologize through
newspapers.
