The cameo clash of the Superstars

The superstars of Malayalam are not usually used to clashing this way. At most times they avoid direct clashes, staggering their releases at least by a week or two. If at all they have to clash then it is during the packed festive season when none can delay or advance their films - the big budget (by Malayalam standards) festival treats for fans.

But this time they have faced off in a completely different manner. Two movies, one with Mammooty and the other having Mohanlal in special appearances were released last weekend. The Mammooty cameo movie is titled One Way Ticket and has Prithviraj in the lead while the film with Mohanlal in a cameo is titled Mizhikal Sakshi.

Both movies are poles apart in themes with One Way Ticket being a regular entertainer and Mizhikal Sakshi being a bit offbeat narrating the story of a mother whose son is convicted of terrorism. The novel clash of the Superstars may after all come to nothing with one going for the audience and the other going for the awards.
