The only radio station in Chennai that celebrates a day of ‘Tamilian Pride is BIG 92.7 FM. Recently, they conducted the first semi finals of the largest talent hunt on Radio 'BIG Singaara Singer'. The audition was conducted in the presence of eminent personalities such as music director Vijay Anthony and playback singers Rahul Nambiar and Krish who

judged the contest. First came the on-air prelim rounds and later, around 30 contestants were short listed for the on-ground semi finals. This will be the first of the two on-ground rounds to identify two golden voices of Chennai. The winners will actually be featured as playbacks by famous music director Vijay Anthony in his forthcoming movie. Dhapne Kumaraswamy and R. Srinivasan were announced as the winners of the first round of the contest. In the second round of the contest, Divya Darshini and Socrates emerged as winners.
