There is a lot of precedent for movie stars to take up politics in Tamil Nadu. MGR, Jayalalitha, Sarath Kumar, Kushboo, Napoleon, Ramaraj are a few examples. Following the release of Saguni, a political thriller, fans are expecting that Karthi will also enter politics in the future. Karthi has clarified that he has absolutely no intention of taking the plunge into politics but his fans are not buying it and still hoping that he will do so.
Which is why when Karthi found out that Venkat Prabhu was considering working political dialogues into the script of Biriyani, Karthi begged him not to do so. He does not wish to fuel the rumors any more and Venkat Prabhu was amenable.
