Shankar is famous for the amount of time,
effort and expense he puts into his songs
in order to make them truly spectacular. His
clever use of graphics in particular has been
hugely appreciated by the fans. The songs
in Endhiran were considered mind boggling
and he intends to repeat the feat with Nanban.
Let us look at some of his jaw – dropping
numbers from earlier films.
Muquabla from Kaadhalan
AR Rahman’s pulsating beats, Prabhu
Deva’s faster than light dance moves
and Shankar’s innovative use of graphics
made for a truly memorable song. No wonder
the song went on to become the rage throughout
the country! Who can forget the music or Prabhu
Deva’s dancing and the headless horsemen?
A brilliant effort!
Kannodu Kaanbathellam from Jeans
Seeing Aishwarya Rai dance, a lot of men reportedly
have forgotten themselves. Shankar confounded
the senses of the male populace by cleverly
showing two Aishwaryas dancing to ARR’s
tune. And because of the context in which
it was showed, it was funny as hell. And the
skeleton’s rendition of Bharathanatyam
at the end of the song was a neat touch.
Mudhalvane from Mudhalvan
Shankar and AR Rahman delivered yet another
memorable track in Mudhalvan. It captured
the spirit of the movie beautifully via some
inspired graphics and a board game.
Boom Boom from Boys
Adnan Sami croons Boom Boom shake your bon
bon while Siddharth and Genelia dance around
with their friends who have suddenly become
tin men. It was a fun way to convey the message
– ‘Recycle to save the planet!’
Arima Arima from Endhiran
Superstar and Aishwarya rocked the Arima Arima
track from Endhiran. And the graphics were
some of Shankar’s finest work. And the
effect needless to say was awesome!
