GRAND GALA FESTIVITIES PLANNED

The Tamil Film Director's Association, which was the first association exclusively for directors, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The association boasts of membership of legends like LV Prasad, TR Sundaram, Sriramulu Nayudu, AV Meyyappan, Beem Singh, Mahendran, Balu Mahendra, K Balachander, Bharathi Raja, and Mani Ratnam. A press meet was conducted on Friday (30th July) to announce the activities planned to celebrate the anniversary.

The TFDA has planned for a grand function on October 23 (Saturday) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai to mark the occasion. Directors and film technicians from across India will be present to support and to felicitate the legendary and budding directors of Tamil Cinema. It has also been decided to acknowledge the efforts of all the past and current directors. The gala function will be attended by actors, technicians and musicians from the north and the south. These festivities are planned with the support of Tamil Nadu Producers union, Actor's union and all other sister associations.
