Asin stirred up controversy when she visited Sri Lanka and had
to face a lot of criticism from the film fraternity. There was
also a talk about her films being banned from release. The members
of Producer's council gathered today for a meeting to decide on
the action to be taken against Asin.
It was then decided, after the meeting, that since this is a sensitive
issue and involves people from other fields also, the judgement
on Asin will be decided by a joint committee in the film chamber
which involves people from other associations like TFDA, Film
Producer's union, FEFSI, Film Distributor's union and Theatre
Owner's association. Looks like Asin is going to be on the hot
seat for more days to come.
