MS Viswanathan and Dr. Vyjayanthimala Bali
launched the MUSICUNIV @ Calibre Academy
on Saturday, 17th July, 2010 at the Calibre
Academy premises in Royapettah.
The curriculum offered will be a complete
musical program entitled "Foundation
Certificate in Classical Music." It
will encompass the fundamental aspects of
North and South Indian classical music as
well as global musical traditions to the
students of Std. VII upwards, says the press
note.
MS Viswanathan blessed the students and
wished them well, and Dr. Vyjayanthimala
stressed the importance of dance in music
and music in dance.
Madhuvanthi Arun, Correspondent of Calibre
Academy, said that music would be taught
as a subject to children of standard seven
upwards and not as an extra or co-curricular
subject as it is normally done.
