The newly elected members
of the Producer's Council took their oath
on July 12th 2010 at the theatre in the Film
Chamber complex. The President Rama Narayanan,
along with his team of 20 members took charge
yesterday.
AVM Saravanan, L Suresh, Vijaykumar, Sarath
Kumar, VC Guhanathan, ‘Four Frames’
Kalyanam, Radha Ravi and others were present
during this event.
Soon after taking charge, Rama Narayanan said
that he would ensure that only three films
are released per week. He added that this
will come into effect immediately.
Apart from this, he said that the monthly
payment made to the senior producers would
go up from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 3000. Also, the
solatium paid to a deceased producer has been
hiked from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh.
