Asin’s visit to Sri Lanka for the
shooting of the Hindi flick Ready had triggered
a controversy in Kollywood. The Nadigar
Sangam along with other associations has
said that they would take action against
the actress for visiting the island despite
their warnings.
It has been reported in a popular Tamil
daily that Asin has said that she is not
in SL to extend her support to that government
but to help scores of Sri Lankan Tamils.
The lady says that she has started a trust
and is helping Sri Lankan Tamils by conducting
eye camps. Asin adds that she has adopted
100 women.
According to the actress, several people
she had met in these camps are eager to
meet Vijay and Suriya and are addressing
them as “Anna”.
