Vasantha Balan and Rough Indian

Vasantha Balan began his career in the tinsel town as a director in Album. The film did moderate business and after a gap, Veyil, which he did for his mentor Shankar helped him shoot to stardom. The film earned heaps of praise from all over and Vasantha Balan became an acclaimed director. Veyil won numerous awards at many international film festivals, and

recently the film was also selected as the best regional film by Government of India.

A pleasant surprise came to Vasantha Balan recently when he was chosen to direct an English film titled Rough Indian by producers who had made Shekar Kapur’s Bandit Queen. Currently, Vasantha Balan is busy with Angadi Theru, after wrapping up this shoot, he will move on to Rough Indian.
