End of strike provides respite to Tamil cinema

Kodambakkam breathed a sigh of relief after the announcement of withdrawal of the truckers strike was out today. For already the production companies were finding the going tough to organize the set properties, generator, and many such equipments when there was acute diesel shortage.

Adding to the woes was the truckers’

strike that skyrocketed the rates of essential commodities, especially vegetables, to unbelievable levels. This also burnt a huge hole in the production budget making the producer go berserk about the meal expenses served at the shooting spots.

Now that the strike is over and the diesel situation has eased out, the production units are expected to rise up from the momentary slumber.
