Disclosing how Dasavatharam came into making,
Kamal Haasan said that it was his idea to
don ten roles that set the whole project in
motion. The story was weaved on these ten
characters, he added.
On the Punjabi Singh character that gets
cured of cancer miraculously by a gunshot,
Kamal said this idea was inspired from a
real-life incident involving the Late Tamil
Nadu Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.G. Ramachandran.
Explaining further, Kamal said that the
TN CM acted in films and was able to talk
even better after the gunshot wound.
