Aadukalam is a much anticipated film which
is getting released on the Pongal weekend.
Directed by Vetrimaran, Aadukalam's hero is
Dhanush and Taapsee Pannu will be his love

• Aadukalam is Dhanush's second movie
will director Vetrimaran. His first movie
with him was Polladhavan.
• The film is rumored to be based on
a true story which occurred in Madurai in
the 1970s.
• The trio of Vetrimaran, Dhanush and
GV Prakash are coming together for this movie
after Polladhavan.
• The film has been shot in places like
Thirunagar, Thirupparankundram and surrounding
areas.
• Trisha was supposed to be the heroine
of Aadukalam. Since her dates for the movie
clashed with other projects, Taapsee Pannu
was selected as the next choice.
• The film was first titled Seval but
since the name coincided with Bharath's movie,
the movie was renamed Aadukalam later.
• Dhanush will be competing with Vijay
(movie-wise) for the 4th time as a festival
