Aayirathil Oruvan has successfully crossed all
hurdles and will be released as planned
on Pongal! Based on the petition filed
by Salem Chandrasekar claiming about
Rs. 1.10 crores from Raveendran and
Selvaraghavan, the City Civil Court
magistrate had ordered a stay on the
film.
According to the petitioner, he had
paid about Rs. 2 crore to Selvaraghavan
to direct a film titled Kasimedu,
but he moved on to other projects
and failed to honor his commitment.
When Selvaraghavan began AO, it was
decided to return the money and Rs.
90 lakhs was returned in 2006 and
the balance was agreed to be returned
at the time of the film’s release.
With the impending release, the petitioner
had sought a stay until his dues are
paid up fully. Now, the issue has
been solved amicably between both
the parties in an out of court settlement.
Meanwhile, the FEFSI has issued a
statement that the 100 supporting
actors and actresses, who filed a
police complaint for non payment of
salary, are not a part of their association.
