with Prabhu Deva, who mentioned that it
was enjoyable working with the dancer turned
actor turned director. "This is one
of the most expensive film in my career.
Although I don't agree with the popular
belief that Villu is on par with James Bond
movies, I would like to leave it to public
opinion," Vijay averred. He also revealed
that he nicknamed Prabhu Deva, The Magician
on the sets. "He took me to Switzerland
for a song and made me do my own body double
- that is made me pose as different persons
in a single song," he said. Vijay also
mentioned that such magic sequences are
dime a dozen in the movie.
Vijay also thanked cinematographer Ravi
Varman for showing his handsome side. "If
you thought I looked handsome in the movie
than my previous ones, it should be attributed
to Ravi," he stated. While Devi Sri's
songs are sure shot chartbusters, his rerecording
will be on par with Ilayaraja's works, Vijay
noted.
On his 50th movie, Vijay said that he wished
Villu to be his 50th venture. "I'm
really not going to pay attention to the
number. I will listen to script for my 50th
movie as I would for any other venture,"
he added.
Prabhu Deva, in his address, hailed the
producer for being liberal enough to attend
to the movie's requirements. "I doubt
if anybody would get such producers. I never
heard no as an answer for anything from
them," he declared. He also admitted
to have made Vijay toil with his complex
dance movements necessary for the movie.
He asserted that Villu would be the most
stylish movie in Vijay's career. While he
reflected Vijay's thoughts about Devi Sri
Prasad, he also mentioned that the music
is bang on, just the way he expected for
the movie. And on Nayan, he assured that
she is multi-talented.
