Namitha to revive a lost genre
By Behindwoods News Bureau.
January 02, 2008
Voluptuous vixen Namitha has ended last year on a high note with her Azhagiya Tamil Magan and the latest release Billa catapulting her to the major league. She has had a host of hits with the likes of Naan Avanillai getting her closer to family audiences as well. Now this actress is likely to revive a lost genre in Kollywood.
Namitha

Karakatakaran was one of the biggest hits of 1990 and this film set around the life of a folk dancer. This film was a phenomenal success but the subsequent movies that tried to emulate its success by riding on the same genre failed to do so with the exception of Naatupura Paatu, which was an average hit. Now another film produced by Nemichand Jabak productions with Hitesh Jabak as producer titled Paandi delves on the same topic. This film stars Lawrence as hero and Sneha as heroine, it has Namitha playing a significant role of a Karakatakari in the movie. She feels that the success of this movie will definitely put her among the top heroines in Tamil cinema and also revive the genre of films based on folk dance. Namitha’s fans will definitely be ready to receive her in roles different from the ones she is playing.
