It's
that special day of the year for all those who
are in love and for those who love to be in
love. Its February 14, Valentine’s Day,
no day is more special for those in love. So,
what’s special for this year’s Valentine.
Flowers as usual, chocolates, teddy bears, cards,
messages and all kinds of goodies to convey
that special message. What does Kollywood have
in store for you on the day?
There definitely does seem to be a change
in the air with Valentine’s day around.
After months of villain bashing, loud mouthing,
message giving and heavy cinema, we are now
going to get a few breezy ones to fall in
love with. The first one is already out, Theeratha
Vilayattu Pillai. Well, perhaps it is not
the mushy mushy kind of love story, but is
about love alright and it released a couple
of days ahead of Valentine. Well, if you are
quite intent on catching a movie that has
been made especially for the day, then you
might have noticed that an English flick,
Valentine’s Day has also been released
this Friday. It might well be the one Valentine
special that you have been searching for.
And, if you are the one who has a more platonic
outlook on love, then there is My Name is
Khan which is all about believing in the strength
of one’s love and living with compassion.
A different kind of Valentine movie it will
be.
But, even Kollywood did have a very special
Valentine gift up its sleeve. With music that
oozed romance, love and the feel good factor,
a fresh looking Silambarasan and a mesmerizing
Trisha under Gautham Menon’s subtle
romantic directorial skills, everyone wanted
to see Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa for Valentine's
Day. It would have been an absolute treat
for all those who love Valentine and Tamil
cinema. Sadly, we hear that VTV is still a
couple of weeks away. Perhaps, just its music,
Hosanna and Omana penne, might make for an
excellent Valentine celebration. But, those
of you who were planning your Valentine around
this movie might as well push your personal
Valentine celebration to the 26th of February.
Till then, for all those who are in love
and for all those who love to fall in love
(everyone, that is)….. Valentine Day
wishes from the Behindwoods team.
