Actor-director
Cochin Haneefa reached the heavenly
abode today (February 2nd , 2010).
His death came in as shocking news
for many of his fans. Haneefa made
his debut in the film industry in
the 1979 with Mamangam. He later went
on to act in several films including
Mudhalvan, Pattiyal, and Mahanadi.
The actor played an important role
in Madarasapatinam and few of his
scenes are remaining incomplete, while
his next flick Asal will be released
shortly.
He has also directed several Malayalam
films including Oru Sandesam Koodi,
Oru Sindoora Pottinte Ormaykku, Veena
Meettiya Vilangukal and Bheesmacharya.
He was also a noted screenplay, dialogue
and story writer.
Haneefa has been battling liver cancer
for the past six months and his condition
deteriorated today. His body will
be kept at his Virgumbakkam residence
and will later be shifted to his hometown
Cochin.
His demise is indeed a great loss
to the film world. Behindwoods offers
