High Court refuses ban

The High Court of Madras refused to ban the film Thee after hearing the contention of both the parties. According to the petitioner, a scene depicting a fracas between a police officer and lawyer is being constantly telecast in the television channels and this will make the current situation even worse, it is felt. However, Sun Pictures countered that the film prints have been sent across to all the distributors and banning it at this stage could mean huge monetary losses.

On hearing the plea, the judge ordered Sun Pictures to screen the film for those concerned with the case to ensure that it is not as alleged by the petitioner. Heeding to this, Sun Pictures will screen the film at a preview theatre today (Feb 27th) in Chennai. Thee stars Sundar C, Namitha and Ragini and is directed by Vincent Selva.
