The entire Malayalam Cine industry was present
to felicitate M Sasi Kumar, the director of
Subramaniyapuram. It is a rare feat of a Tamil
movie being lauded for its unique efforts
in a neighboring State.
Subramaniyapuram was awarded the Kerala’s
Mathru Bhoomi award for ‘the best path
breaking movie’ in India. The director
M Sasi Kumar was honored in the function.
The whole crew of the film was also honored
during the awards function.
The film was a runaway hit in Kerala and the
song ‘Kangal Irandaal’ was also
a huge hit among the masses. The song was
sung in the background by stage artists while
Sasi Kumar received his award. He spoke in
Malayalam after receiving the award amidst
huge applause. He said that cinema alone crosses
barriers of language, caste, religion, race
and reaches to the masses. Popular star of
the Malayalam cine industry Mammooty and Mohan
Lal were present for the event.
Another feather in the cap for the director
is that the screenplay of the movie Subramaniyapuram
was published in a book format in Malayalam. |
