Will Kollywood lose its tax cuts?

The Tamil Nadu budget was announced yesterday by the Finance Minister Anbazhagan. In his budget speech, the minister said that several tax cuts and other benefits have been announced for the Tamil film industry ever since the present government came to power. He pointed out that films with Tamil titles were given tax cuts and charges for outdoor shooting was reduced considerably.

However, the benefit does not seem to have reached

the common man, with the ticket prices remaining as high as ever, he said. Reacting to this, the Hon’ble Minister said that he would constitute a committee to reconsider the decision on whether the benefits are worth anymore.
