Generally Ameer has the reputation of introducing
realistic characters in his films and rendering
opportunity to actors who have been forgotten
by the industry. In Paruthiveeran, it was
actor Saravanan who had almost hung his
boots in the filmdom but was recalled by
Ameer. Saravanan’s character was well
received and appreciated by the audience.
Now, in Yogi, it is lyricist Snehan and
director Nanda Periyasamy who directed the
Arya starrer Oru Kalluriyin Kathai' - who
will be making their debut in front of the
camera. Snehan will don the role of Ameer’s
friend in the film and will be sharing the
screen presence with him. As regards Nanda
Periyasamy, the director is reported to
be doing the role of a villain called Minnal
Ravi.
