“The story is set in Madurai and we
have managed our best to get the feel of
the Eighties”, says Sashi. He also
states that people who watched the previews
were impressed at the details that went
into the making of movie – especially
the intricacies of each frame.
Subramaniyapuram spins around friendship
and love, but then “no cinema is stranger
than life in itself” declares Sashi
as a matter of fact. Jai’s lead lady
is Swathi, who played Trisha’s sister
in the Telugu hit Adavaari Maatalagu. “Although
she hails from Andhra Pradesh, her features
are very much Tamil”, vouches Sashi.
