Oscar winning director Danny Boyle, who is popularly known in India for collaborating with A.R. Rahman in his projects, has just turned down the offer of knighthood from the Queen of England.
The UK government had reportedly recommended him for the prestigious award, where he would be labeled Sir Danny Boyle henceforth, for his stupendous work in directing the 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. The director though has politely declined the offer saying that he prefers to be an equal citizen, since that was what the entire opening ceremony was all about.
