Actor-director-social activist Lawrence Raghavendra has built a Raghavendra Swamy Brindhavanam Temple in Thirumullaivoyal near Chennai. The temple will be opened to the public from January 1st, 2010. Speaking on this, Lawrence said that the idea to build a temple for Raghavendra has been there since he was an 8-year-old boy. He added that God’s grace ensured that he built a temple in about seven acres of land.

According to Lawrence, he would not invite any of his friends from the film industry for the opening ceremony as it would divert the attention of the devotees who would arrive to worship the lord on the New Year’s Day. A five-day function will be held after 48 days for which he plans to invite all his friends from the tinsel town.
