Aayirathil Oruvan over takes Payya

The race for Pongal release is getting heated up and among other films Selvaraghavan’s Aayirathil Oruvan and Lingusamy’s Payya were supposed to hit the marquee on this special day. Karthi is the hero in both the films. But as per Producer Council’s regulations, two films with the same hero cannot be released on the same day. This has caused some kind of tension between the producers of these two films. While Raveendran, the producer of Aayirathil Oruvan claims that his film was the first one to be commenced and has every right to be released on Pongal day, Lingusamy the producer of Payya is keen to release his film as it was completed before AO.

But now the picture is clear that AO will be given a safe berth on Pongal day and Payya will be released 20 days after Pongal.
