remuneration
issues – an issue that seems to have
been discussed a million times in media
circles.
Lingusamy however maintains his stand and
says that Nayan is one of his favorite actors.
"The way her career graph shot up is
intriguing. Unlike others her career progressed
in reverse gear. She paired up with the
superstar during the early years of her
career and started accepting roles with
heroes of next generation," Lingusamy
has this to say about Nayan's career. He
also said that Nayan was admirable in the
recent Dhanush hit 'Yaaradi Nee Mogini'.
On why his association with her could not
work out, he clarifies that Payya's budget
was trimmed down from what it was earlier.
The matter was discussed with Nayan. "I
still wanted Nayan to be a part of it and
even ready to pay her remuneration in full.
However, things went awry when she decided
to go public in this regard," says
Lingusamy.
He is, however, happy with Tamanna's performance
and is all praises for her commitment and
involvement.
About the story of Payya, he reveals that
Karthi's image will have a complete makeover
for the movie unlike his previous ventures
Paruthiveeran and Aayirathil Oruvan. He
wrote two scripts after Bheema and zeroed
down to Payya. "I am exploring the
charming and handsome side of Karthi and
that's what you get to see in Payya,"
he promises. Payya is an urban story and
tells the interesting events happening in
the lives of a pair of lovers. The movie
will be widely shot in Bangalore, Hyderabad
and Mumbai.
Lingusamy also slams the theory that he
will only associate with senior actors in
the industry. "To me, the plot plays
an important aspect of the movie and there
is no compromise," he makes clear.
On why he decided to produce Payya under
his Tirupathy Pictures banner, he mentions
that it was only sheer coincidence. "I
am open to take up other projects also,"
he is quick to clarify. He also states that
his Tirupathy Pictures will produce movies
directed by other directors, like 'Deepavali'
and the upcoming 'Pattaalam'.
