Naan Kadavul – rushing up for awards |
|
December 29, 2008 |
|
If
the media buzz is to be believed,
Naan Kadavul will be sent to the Censor
Board for certification before the
year ends. The movie has generated
huge expectations because of its content
– for starters, Arya plays a
cannibal sanyasi (Agora) in the movie.
He has also undergone an image makeover
of sorts with dreadlocks and long
unsettling beard for the movie. Pooja
plays his lead and she has dubbed
for herself in the movie. |

The movie narrates the story of a young boy
who was abandoned in Varanasi by his father,
based on the astrologers' instructions. After
a few years the father goes back in hope of
bringing his son back and startled by what
he witnesses. The son, growing among the sadhus,
has become a dreadful sanyasi. The story also
revolves around Arya's life after he is brought
to Tamil Nadu.
As a first time, Bala has delegated the dialogue
department to the popular writer, Jaymohan
who pens the dialogues. The movie is scored
by Ilayaraja and Bollywood musician Uttam
Singh. Bala has also refrained himself from
converting the movie into digital imaging
for fear of rejection from entry into award
committees. The movie will be put to test
under the censor scissors on December 30 enabling
it to become an entry for this year's awards.
